| Description: | Skill : WRITE
Usage : WRITE "ITEM" ("TEXT TO WRITE") Available: ALL Example : write parchment From recall, go nseeseenwesee This skill allows one to write ordinary messages onto ordinary paper, parchments, and similar writing material. The language the player will write in will depend on which language the player is currently SPEAKing.
When writing on a journal, you need not specify any parameters when using this command. |
Special Codes
- You may use the Color Codes to add color to your texts.
- Only one special affect may be applied at a time.
- You may not combine a background and a foreground color in your texts.
- You may need to experiment with the ^N, ^? and ^. terminators to ensure your text displays correctly and doesn't bleed into the next view.
Other special codes that may be used in writings:

| ^. | Reset | Turns off background color and underline. |

| ^H | Highlight | This is a limited version of text color. |
| ^* | Blink | May not work on all clients, and is very annoying if it does work. |
| \n | Carriage Return | Useful for starting new paragraphs and in making tables. |
Notes
- Writing proficiency affects the end result of the written text.
- Writing proficiency is also checked for Embroidering and Engraving skills.
- If you do not have your ANSI enabled, you won't be able to see colors, but other readers with ANSI enabled will.
