Welcome to the CoffeeMUDWiki. (What is a wiki?)

What is CoffeeMUD?

CoffeeMud is a high fantasy text-based game available to play right now on the web. The game can also be played using a traditional MUD client from your personal computer or internet device by connecting to host coffeemud.net port 23.

CoffeeMud is also a MUD Engine, which is a very large computer program that provides a foundation upon which one can most efficiently build a text based MUD game of their very own. When you download the CoffeeMud software, you are dedicating yourself to weeks, months, even years of meticulous work using it to build a new world for others to log into and play.

How to Use This Wiki

There are two ways to use this wiki. You may SEARCH the wiki for a topic that you are interested in, or you may use the navigation bar at the top of each page.

The navigation bar is split into three main categories:

  • Administrator - This section provides some information on how to set up and run a CoffeeMUD-based MUD. This is generic information for any CoffeeMUD, not just the official CoffeeMUD game.
  • Builder - This section provides some information on how to build mobs, areas and items using the CoffeeMUD engine. This is generic information for any CoffeeMUD, not just the official CoffeeMUD game.
  • Player - This section provides a lot of information for how to play a generic CoffeeMUD, including the official CoffeeMUD. The pages in this section will often reference specific areas or items in the CoffeeMUD world, which is to say, within the game hosted at CoffeeMUD.net.

Clicking a navigation bar link will take you to sub-menus within that topic, and possibly into tertiary or quartiary menus.
